Meet Samson, Golden Trips Tanzania's Director

Tell us about who you are, Samson!

I am from the fascinating Maasai tribe of Tanzania. My mother inspired me to dream big (she was a cook and as a side job, created nutritious lunch boxes for tourists), so I became a professional guide, learned about the industry & now work with aktiv planet! I am also Secretary of the Tanzania Tour Guide Association.

What is your favorite food?

I am not a complicated guy.
I like food that is simple and flavorful. Nyama choma (barbecue meat) and rice is a perfect combination. Oh, and I also enjoy a glass of milk.
Note that at Golden Trips Tanzania, we accommodate every diet.

What is your favorite activity with clients?

Driving in the wilderness. Nature is never the same. Today’s experience is different from tomorrow’s experience. I am always mesmerized!
Guiding clients as we visit parks in the Northern Circuit or in places that are off the beaten path is always the highlight of my job.

What is your favorite wild animal?

The lion and lioness. They represent Maasai life: male and female behavior, the courage and strength of the females in particular; the beauty of the lion’s mane. I see my people in them!

Why should I choose Golden Trips Tanzania?

You have lots of choices in my country, but I recommend our services because Golden Trips Tanzania cares about people in Tanzania and cares about you, our clients. Choose us and you are supporting a great company that employs locally and ethically.

What else can you tell us about you, Samson?

I love to learn new things to improve my career (I use what I learned when I was contracting for tourism agencies); I like to laugh at jokes; and in my free time, I like a good pool table game.
